Draft minutes of the June 17, 2026 SPIL Committee meeting (Zoom, about 55 minutes), attended by Amanda Lowe, Philip Ana, Roxanne Untalan Bolden, and Letty Zuno, with Patrick Gartside absent. Using the shared tracking form, each organization reported progress against SPIL goals. SILC reported that the bill to codify the SILC did not advance this session (a new attempt is planned with DVR), policies and committee charters are voted in and being posted to the website, four new members (Lehua, Roy Corpus, Leia, and Letty) received gubernatorial approval, the Executive Director completed her first year with the Council intending to retain her, and the mini-survey and a third draft of the community needs assessment are moving forward. Extended discussion questioned the "expand funding for the independent living network" objective - grants won by a center fund that center, not the network - with agreement that naming partner organizations in applications (including a possible SILC-led Grants in Aid application naming both centers) is the workable model. Center reports covered housing, transportation, employment, and emergency preparedness work; SPIL amendment discussion was deferred until Chair Gartside could attend.
