Meeting Documents
- 6.18.26 Finance Committee Meeting Agenda for Statewide Independent Living Council Finance Committee Meeting
Agenda for the June 18, 2026 Finance Committee meeting (1:00-2:00pm) at Hub Coworking Hawaii in Honolulu with Zoom option. The two substantive agenda items are reviewing SILC's approved FY 2027 Resource Plan and discussing possible amendments, and discussing the Finance Committee's future meeting frequency, priority topics, and planned recommendations to the full SILC board for FY2026, followed by public comment and adjournment.
- 6.18.26 Finance Committee Draft Minutes for Statewide Independent Living Council Finance Committee Meeting
Draft minutes of the June Finance Committee meeting (Zoom, about 1:00-1:42 PM; the minutes' own date line reads Thursday, June 11, 2026), chaired by Treasurer Annette Tashiro with Philip Ana, Judy Guajardo, and Executive Director Amanda Lowe. The committee clarified SILC's funding structure - Part B and Innovation & Expansion funds under a DSE contract covering FY 2025-2027, invoiced at about $33,000 per quarter - and reported an available checking balance of $212,936.16 as of June 3, 2026, including roughly $200,000 in unspent prior-period funds that members cautioned against treating as operating money. Resource development items included a joint $200,000 Borealis Foundation application with HDRC ($50,000 to SILC, decision expected in November), grants to offset cybersecurity insurance, and a possible SILC-led Grants in Aid application naming both centers. The committee also discussed updating the SPIL's resource-management language so shared grants can be structured across the network, possibly separating a budget amendment from more contested SPIL amendments, moving the Executive Director to full time with part-time office support, the recurring cost of quarterly neighbor-island meetings, and standing up the emergency preparedness committee. The next meeting was set for July 9 with Chair Gartside presenting his draft budget.
