The State Plan for Independent Living is a document required by law that indicates how the Independent Living Network is going to improve independent living services for people with disabilities over the next three years. It identifies the needs and priorities of consumers, providers, and other stakeholders and sets forth goals and objectives to respond to them.
Collaborating on our plan’s development helps us to create a cohesive and unified vision among all stakeholders who have an interest in issues that impact citizens with disabilities.
With approximately 1.44 million residents living on six main islands (Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Lanai, Molokai, and Hawaii Island) our plan must be a dynamic and creative collaboration.
Our plan works to promote equality and the pursuit of happiness throughout our society as everyone, regardless of disability, is included.
